I was on a tram yesterday. It was crowded, so standing room only. A woman got on and stood next to me, holding onto one of those little things that hang off the ceiling. As the tram started moving, she looked at me and laughed (in a friendly way), and said ‘Well, it’s much easier than pole dancing…’

I’m not sure whether I was perhaps looking grumpy, and she was trying to encourage me to look on the bright side, or maybe she had just finished a long shift of pole dancing and was relieved to have a simpler task (or possibly she thought I had). Or maybe she meant something else entirely, I wish I’d thought to ask though, but alas, instead my mind drifted off to what it would be like if they allowed pole dancing on trams…
