Well, any of you who have read my review of The Feminist Porn Book will know by now that I am a big advocate for feminist porn. And after reviewing the book, the natural next question on everyone’s lips is ‘So where to I find this good stuff?’ So, I approached one of the contributors to the book Ms Naughty, who not only is a wonderful, talented woman, but also produces and directs award winning feminist porn which can be seen on her subscription website BrightDesire.com – ‘Smart porn for women and men’.

My interest was more than a little piqued after watching the free preview segments – this was the kind of stuff I’d been looking for. Stunning, artistic, genuine and beautiful in it’s portrayal of the human body, and sexual connections.

And then, when I entered the full site, well, all I can say is WOW! It felt like I was opening the door to some kind of wonderland. There are so many different styles and scenarios to watch and read about. In fact, there is so much good stuff, and such a plethora of viewing options that that’s the reason why I’ve been a bit tardy in publishing this review! I found myself in the situation of thinking to myself, ok, just one more film, just one more story, just one more section…and then I’ll write the review. And, of course, as I like to be thorough, I ended up spending hours immersing myself in the BrightDesire.com content.

The site offers a lovely variety of material: Stills photos, video, short films, erotic fiction and documentaries that are often not accessible through mainstream means, covering a diverse range of interests. Just to give you an idea – here’s a sample of just a few of the tags: real life couples, cunnilingus, female-female, pegging, BDSM, laughter, threesome, masturbation….Much of which is Ms Naughty’s own work but also including pieces produced by others which fit the ethical, feminist porn theme of the site.

Now, in terms of the video content on BrightDesire, if I was only allowed to use one word to describe it, that word would be STUNNING! This is where you really get to see why Ms Naughty is an award winning producer and director. It is porn, but so much of it is unlike any porn I’ve seen before, and is of such a high quality – in terms of how it’s been shot and produced, as well as the choice of actors and the ways they interact with each other, that it’s incredibly compelling viewing.

Ms Naughty does not box herself in with the formulaic approach to porn, she experiments and explores, with amazing results. There is highly artistic content, such as the mesmerizing kaliedogasm parts 1 and 2, the sensual beauty of Leah and Mal: Persephone remix, and a unique and erotic portrayal of group sex in Bachannalia. And then one also has the opportunity to view very down to earth scenes with real couples, who have real connections, doing what they love to do with each other. In these videos, the genuine pleasure, joy and excitement from the people in front of the camera, is almost palpable, and as a viewer you feel as if you are being respectfully invited to share the pleasure of these experiences. Some are straight sex scenes while others have little storylines attached, such as the rather adorable and fun I.M. in love – this one is guaranteed to make you smile, with it’s natural, open, joyous energy. Also, another highlight of the video section is a series of solo play pieces. But these are not just simply watching someone masturbate, instead we are treated to not only the visual but an accompanying voiceover talking the viewer through the fantasies and scenarios that are inspiring the performers self pleasure.

The content on BrightDesire.com is, purely and simply, scorchingly hot – so hot in fact that even my computer started to overheat!

So, if you’ve been searching for quality, intelligent, feminist porn, BrightDesire.com is definitely the place to go to find some of the best stuff I’ve seen out there. So, check out the previews, and if you like what you see, it’s definitely one that’s worth opening the door to, and going all the way with.
